About Mark
Mark Nelson was born on an island in Southeast Alaska, raised in a rustic, pragmatic culture. His upbringing was diverse; with 8 mismatched siblings and his “odd-couple” parents, (his Mom born in New York and his Dad, an older Midwestern farmer). Mark is a true realist with an analytical approach, and unprejudiced perspective on debatable issues.
Throughout his childhood, Mark worked with his Dad who operated a small general contracting company. He also spent three years working in a shipyard performing heavy industrial work. Yet, in his early twenties, he began working in business-to- business consulting which kick-started his training career. Although Mark stayed involved in his family’s construction business until it closed in 2005, he furthered his education in business administration and instruction. Throughout the past decade, he has focused on occupational safety consulting and administering corporate safety programs.
As an instructor, he has spoken to hundreds of audiences, training thousands of workers in multiple aspects of commerce. Aiming for legal compliance, Mark excels in assisting businesses develop and maintain policies and procedures which are practical and effective.
His formal education includes a Master's degree in Business Administration, a vocational certification in Criminal Justice, and two vocational certifications in Occupational Safety and Health. Best of all, Mark has an animated sense of humor and brings an unparalleled energy to his meetings.
